Michael K. is a fifth grader at P.S. 858 in Brooklyn, NY. He has become one of the leaders of the SPHDZ mission. Where at first he is reluctant, by the end of Book 1 he is fully on board.
Early life[]
Michael K. moves to Brooklyn right before the beginning of fifth grade. He lives with his mom, his dad, and his baby sister (Baby K.). His mom works for a mysterious government agency (the Z.I.A.) and his dad runs an advertising firm which is how Michael K. was once featured on a box of Super Crunchies cereal that proclaimed he could do anything once he had them for breakfast.
Involvement with SPHDZ[]
Michael K. becomes involved with SPHDZ when he meet Jennifer, Bob, and Fluffy on the first day of fifth grade. They seek out Michael K. specifically because they saw him in that Super Crunchies commercial claiming he can "do anything" once he's had them. Too bad the Spaceheadz dodn't understand that was just a commercial.
Through a series of events depicted in Book 1, Michael K. is finally convinced that Spaceheadz are actually aliens and that they really do need his help in recruiting 3.14 million + 1 Earth persons or else earth will be turned off. He creates the somewhat wonky website sphdz.com [1] to sign up other kids to become SPHDZ.
By the end of Book 1, there is no turning back for Michael K.
